I'm Tobi ✨—a corporate designer at Discord, anime enthusiast, and someone who's been photographing events and conventions for a while now.

Good event documentation matters. The economy's tight, people are pickier about which cons they attend, and the ones that look fun and authentic are winning. Quality photos bring in new attendees, attract better guests and vendors, and give you content worth posting.

But hiring a photographer—who gets the space and makes people feel comfortable—for a multi-day event gets expensive, and most cons are run by volunteers on tight budgets.

So in 2026, I'm working with a handful of conventions (5-7 total) to document their events. No fee—just cover my plane ticket and standard hotel for event.

Why? I don't need the money, I genuinely love this stuff, and am somewhat OCD about getting the best shots possible! Helping events grow so more people can find their community also feels like a fantastic use of a few weekends this year.
